Badrinath is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, one of the principal deities of Hinduism. According to mythology, Lord Vishnu meditated at this sacred spot and was protected by Goddess Lakshmi, who took the form of a Badri tree. Hence, the place is known as Badrinath. The Badrinath Temple is also part of the larger Panch Badri circuit and is believed to be the spiritual site where the famous sage Adi Shankaracharya attained enlightenment. Badrinath is one of the 108 Divya Desams (holy shrines for Vaishnavites) and is also considered one of the most important sites in the Char Dham Yatra.

Badrinath is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. It is situated at an elevation of about 3,300 meters (10,827 feet) above sea level, on the banks of the Alaknanda River. The town is nestled between the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges, offering a breathtaking backdrop of towering peaks and lush greenery.

Key Attractions:

1. Badrinath Temple: The main attraction is the Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple was established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century and has an ornate architecture adorned with diverse carvings and sculptures. The idol of Lord Vishnu in a meditative posture is made of black stone and is about 3.3 feet tall.
2. Tapt Kund: This is a natural thermal spring located at the entrance of the Badrinath Temple. Pilgrims take a dip in the hot water before entering the temple, believing it to purify their body and soul.
3. Narad Kund: This sacred pond is believed to be the place where the idol of Lord Vishnu was found. The pond is fed by hot springs, making it significant for religious rituals.
4. Brahma Kapal: A flat platform on the banks of the Alaknanda River, Brahma Kapal is believed to be the spot where Lord Brahma resides. It is particularly significant for performing rituals for the deceased.
5. Mana Village: The last village on the Indian-Tibetan border, Mana is located about 3 kilometers from Badrinath. It's known for its scenic beauty and mythological significance.
6. Vasudhara Falls: Situated about 9 kilometers from Badrinath, the Vasudhara Falls are a must-visit for a tranquil and picturesque experience.
7. Charan Paduka: A beautiful meadow where a footprint believed to be that of Lord Vishnu can be found. It is about 3 kilometers from Badrinath town.

When to Visit:

The best time to visit Badrinath is from May to October. The temple opens in late April or early May (Akshaya Tritiya) and closes in late October or early November (Kartik Purnima), depending on the weather. The region experiences heavy snowfall during winter, making the area inaccessible. Avoiding the monsoon months (July and August) is advisable due to the risk of landslides and road blockages.

• Drive (approx. 2 hours, 45 km) to Badrinath.
• Visit Badrinath Temple and take a holy dip in Tapt Kund.
• Evening darshan and aarti at the temple.
• Overnight stay in Badrinath.

Day 4: Badrinath Local Sightseeing and Return to Joshimath

• Early morning darshan at Badrinath Temple.
• Visit Mana Village, Vasudhara Falls, and other local attractions.
• Drive back to Joshimath.
• Overnight stay in Joshimath.

Day 5: Joshimath to Haridwar/Rishikesh

• Drive back to Haridwar/Rishikesh.
• Evening free for rest or local sights.
• Overnight stay in Haridwar/Rishikesh.

Day 6: Departure
